Getting here from Horncastle

We are at 32 High Street, Coningsby, LN4 4RA — straight down the A153 through Haltham and Roughton, around fifteen minutes depending on the tractors.

Plenty of our regulars make the trip from Horncastle, and a fair few from the Wolds villages beyond it — Tetford, Belchford, Hagworthingham and Scrivelsby.

There is a layby behind us by Morrisons and another just over the road, and Coningsby High Street is straightforward to get in and out of even at school run time.

Wolds walks and what they do to a coat

Dogs walked around the Wolds come back with things in their coat that town dogs never pick up. Burrs, cleavers, seed heads and chalk mud that dries hard into feathering and behind the ears.

Grass seeds are the one to watch between May and September. They work into the fur between the toes and into the ear canal, and once they are in they travel. We check feet and ears at every appointment as a matter of course, and if we find one that has already worked in we will tell you to see your vet rather than dig at it.

For dogs that are out in cover regularly, we are happy to take the feathering shorter through the summer. It makes a genuine difference to how much comes home with them.

We also do things a lot of small salons do not — cat grooming on Saturday afternoons, ultrasonic teeth cleaning without a vet or anaesthetic, and walk-in nail clipping with no appointment needed.
