Up the A153 through Coningsby Fen and Langrick, or the B1183 through Sibsey and Stickney depending on where in Boston you start. Twenty to twenty-five minutes for most people.

We are at 32 High Street, Coningsby, LN4 4RA — which after Boston town centre parking is a small relief in itself.

Why come out of town

Boston has plenty of groomers and most are busy, which is exactly the problem — getting the slot you want, when you want it, is the difficult part.

We groom one dog at a time and we will always try to find a way to fit you in rather than turn you away. If the online diary looks full, ring us. It rarely reflects everything we can actually do.

We also do things that are harder to find locally: cat grooming on Saturday afternoons, ultrasonic teeth cleaning with no vet visit and no anaesthetic, and walk-in nail clipping with no appointment at all.

Fen walks, dykes and salt

Dogs walked along the fen dykes and drains, or down towards the Wash, come back with a specific set of problems — thick dyke mud dried into feathering, and for dogs on the saltmarsh, salt worked into the coat and down to the skin.

Salt left in a coat is drying and irritating, and it is one of the causes of the itching owners often put down to allergies. A proper bath and a thorough dry deals with it. Rinsing at home helps between grooms, but it needs to be a genuine rinse right down to the skin.
